The Management Board of MCI Management S.A. informs that on July 3, 2007 MCI Capital Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych SA (100% MCI Management SA subsidiary) obtained the consent of the Financial Supervision Commission to begin its operations and create MCI.PrivateVentures – the first closed-end investment fund composed of two subfunds: MCI.TechVentures 1.0 and MCI.EuroVentures 1.0. ski SA shall be the depository of the funds assets.
MCI is planning to launch both subfunds in Q3 and Q4 2007. The subfunds created by MCI shall be non-public assets funds which means that at least 80% of their funds shall be invested in the shares and stocks of non-public companies.
The first of the subfunds – MCI.TechVentures 1.0 shall be created with the intent to continue the previous investment operations of MCI in a more beneficial or for investors and formally more transparent legal structure. MCI is going to move to this fund the assets it holds and in future begin work on creating also with the participation of investors other than MCI Management SA next technology funds (MCI.TechVentures 2.0, etc.) which would allow for the continuation of these investment operations over the next years.
MCI.EuroVentures 1.0 shall be a private equity fund investing from 4 to 40 million PLN in companies from Poland and Central Europe especially in the sector of TMT, food and agriculture, broad sector of services and production for building industry. The funds from MCI.EuroVentures 1.0 shall be used on investments in medium-sized enterprises in their growth or turnaround stages. The investments shall include MBOs or MBIs, LBOs, preIPO trades and public to private transactions. The target size of the fund shall be PLN 400 million. MCI Management SA shall invest in this fund maximum up to 33% of the number of all investment certificates; the remaining part shall be taken up external investors.
Creating new funds MCI wants to offer investors a highly profitable product alternative to investments in the shares listen on the stock exchange or investments in traditional open-ended investment funds.
