Prof. Krzysztof Obłój appointed Member of the MCI Management Supervisory Board

Dorota Lange – Socha and Professor Krzysztof Obłój were appointed new Members of the MCI Management Supervisory Board for a three-year term by the resolution of the Annual General Meeting adopted on 28 April 2014 . They replaced Dariusz Adamiuk and Wojciech Siewierski, who are soon to become Supervisory Board Members of the Private Equity Managers S.A (PEM), an MCI Group portfolio company specialising in managing private equity assets.

High professional competence of the new Supervisory Board Members perfectly matches the MCI’s ambitious development strategy– said Hubert Janiszewski, President of the MCI Management Supervisory Board. The fact that they complement each other in terms of their individual experience is bound to speed up the increase in the Company’s value.

Krzysztof Obłój is a leading expert in the area of strategic and international management. He lectures at the University of Warsaw and at Kozminski University. As a visiting lecturer he visited many renowned business schools, such as University of Illinois, Bodo Graduate School of Management in Norway, ESCP– EAP in France or International Management Development Center in Slovenia.

His books and articles are published both in Europe and the USA, including such titles as: Management Systems (1993), Winning: Continuous Improvement Theory and High Performance Organizations (1995), Emerging Economies and Firms in the Global Crisis (2012), The Passion and Discipline of Strategy (2013) His two last books published in Poland – Organisational Strategy: in Search of Lasting Competitive Advantage (2007) and The Passion and Discipline of Strategy (2010) have become bestsellers.

Professor Krzysztof Obłój also has considerable experience as an organisational adviser. He worked for GlaxoSmithKline, LPP, Beiersdorf, ABB, Benckiser, PZU, PKN Orlen and many others to create company strategy and build organisational structures. He was the President or a Member of many supervisory boards, among others in: Agora – Gazeta S.A., Dwory S.A., Orlen S.A., PZU S.A. and Polmos Lublin S.A. Currently he is a Member of three supervisory boards of public companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Since November 2012 he has held the position of the adviser to the President of the Republic of Poland.

Dorota Lange – Socha graduated from the Department of Molecular Biology of the University of Warsaw. From 1982 to 1984 she worked at the Institute of Biochemistry of the University of Warsaw. Since 1984 she has run her own business. In the first eight years of business activity she developed a chain of then leading boutiques in Warsaw and in Łódź. She has been a co-owner of Forte S.A., a company specialising in multimedia and building company image, since 1992. Additionally, since the beginning of the 1990s, she has actively participated in the process of shaping the Polish capital market, among others as a member of the Supervisory Board of Saturn TFI S.A (2008 to 2014).

Apart from adopting the above resolution, the Annual General Meeting of 28 April 2014 approved the Company’s financial statements for the financial year 2013 and the report on the company’s activities in 2013 by the Management Board and the Supervisory Board. Furthermore, the individual members of the Management Board and Supervisory Board of the MCI Management were granted discharge in respect of the fulfilment of their duties in 2013. Finally, the Meeting approved the distribution of the Company’s and the Capital Group’s profit for 2013 and adopted a resolution on the remuneration of the Supervisory Board Members.
