Internet Ventures FIZ, with partial ownership by the National Capital Fund (Krajowy Fundusz Kapitałowy, KFK), invests in RemoteMyApp, a company which uses ground-breaking technology to stream multimedia content (games, video, applications, music) from PCs to smartphones. The investment in the project may reach PLN 6 million.

The video games market is developing dynamically. Gamers are no longer happy just being able to play games on their desktop computers, they want to access them from their mobile phones, which are increasingly more powerful, as well as from larger devices, such as TVs or OHPs without location restrictions. The Remotr app developed by RemoteMyApp meets those needs. MCI funds are on the lookout for companies with a global reach potential and a leadership position. We will assist the company with our competences in order to fully tap into its potential,” said Tomasz Danis, Internet Ventures Manager.

The company was established by Polish engineers, but since very early on it has been developing in an international team. From day one, its business model has assumed achieving an international scale of operations. Already today, the company has users across many countries and our task is to help it turn their global leadership aspirations into reality,” said Michał Wrzołek, Investment Manager at Private Equity Managers S.A., company managing the Fund.

The company’s investors so far have included Xevin Lab and Red Sky. Internet Ventures Fund is the only participant in this round of financing and once the first tranche is completed, it will become its largest financial investor.

We live in an information era and in a world of on-demand content. What it means for the video games market is that 700 million PC gamers want to play their favourite games whenever and wherever they want. This is precisely what our app – Remotr – allows them to do. Thanks to us, players can access their games not only through their desktop computers, but also through their phones, tablets, TVs and other devices,” said Avi Kaye, CEO and co-founder of RemoteMyApp. The capital provided by the new investor will allows us to fine-tune our offer, add a business version of the app and improve its phone gaming functionalities. One of our key projects will be to create a games cloud, which will allow users to play games without a PC” he added.

The new investor will help us expand our IT and marketing teams,” said Radosław Zawartko, CPO and co-founder of the company.

The funds will also serve to develop our technology, which will translate into even better user experience for the players,” added Rafal Krochmal, CTO and co-founder.

Remotr is an app which allows its users to stream multimedia content (games, video, software and music) from their desktop PCs or laptops to an external device (smartphone or tablet) with simultaneous remote application access in real time from an external device (such as a smartphone or tablet). Remotr enables sound and video streaming with the same quality and ensures the same functionality of applications in all popular operating systems (Windows, Windows Mobile, iOS and Android).  Another key feature is the fact that the service offers stable and uninterrupted transfer of data regardless of the number of users who have access to a single computer, while maintaining fluency and video and sound quality.
