MCI.TechVentures 1.0. is a private equity sub-fund that specializes in investments into telecom, internet, mobile services and technologies, wireless technologies and sectors such as: digital media, e-commerce, software, Fintech and the Internet of Things. Assets from the MCI.TechVentures 1.0. sub-fund are invested in companies that are in a growth phase and not listed on the regulated market with a high expected rate of return at a lower risk than during the early stage of business activity. The MCI.TechVentures 1.0. sub-fund invests primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland, Western Europe, Scandinavia and Israel. Strategic investment by the MCI.TechVentures 1.0. sub-fund finances the growth and expansion of the business to build regional, European and global leaders.

Holder of M.Sc. in Enterprise Management from the Wrocław School of Economics. He also completed a post-graduate management course at the Warsaw School of Economics and obtained the Master of Business Administration title from the University of Minnesota.

For the past 20 years, Venture Capital/Private Equity investor, founder and Group Managing Partner @ MCI Capital – one of the leading European private equity groups with focus on technology and digitalization. In 1990-1998 Co-founder and CEO of JTT Computer SA – leading CE computer manufacturer with USD 100M+ revenue.
  • Selected as one of Top-20 best Polish managers in 2015 by Bloomberg business week. Guest speaker at many PE/VC conferences, including NOAH. Supervisory board member and advisory board member of many of MCI funds portfolio companies across Europe. In 2001 the World Economic Forum awarded Tomasz Czechowicz with the title of Global Leader for Tomorrow for his exceptional feeling for the market, professionalism, vision and business efficacy. In 2000 one of the TOP-10 most influential people in the European Internet by Business Week.

  • Partner; manages the fund Internet Ventures FIZ and co-manages MCI.TechVentures 1.0
  • He worked for LinkedIn in California, where he was responsible for the creation of the competition strategy on the European market.
  • From 2002 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2012, he was employed at McKinsey & Company, where, as Engagement Manager, he was in charge of the implementation of strategic and investment projects (including M&A) for top European companies focused on telecommunications and media, but also for leading power industry, fuel sector, FMCG and Private Equity players.
  • In 2012, he took the function of Managing Director at Rocket Internet CEE, the world’s largest e-commerce project incubator, where he was responsible for the identification of new investments, raising capital, establishing new start-ups and development of Rocket’s portfolio of growth-stage companies.
  • He joined the team in 2013.
